Statement of Goal:
    "To develop for the Flying Lateen Rig a legitimate spot alongside traditional rigs in sailboat design."
     Toward that end, we are attempting to custom retro-fit as many different sizes and types of boats as possible to demonstrate the advantages of the Flying Lateen Rig.
Eventually Marine Supply Companies will offer Flying Lateen Rigs as standards, sailboat manufacturers will develop lines of boats designed specifically for/with Flying Lateen Rigs and Charter Companies will offer their boats with Flying Lateen Rigs. As this evolution allows more and more sailors to understand and appreciate the features of the rig, it will mature and assist in the rebirth of sailing around the world.   Those who race against the clock will not be interested. Those who love competition among peers will enjoy Flying Lateen one designs with fewer crew and complexities with which to deal. Short distance cruisers, day sailors and single handers will enjoy it the most. Harbor hopping (as in charter boat sailing or weekend exploring where sails are launched and struck many times a day) with The Flying Lateen Rig will spoil skippers who need perhaps a minute at most to do either and with no help whatsoever from a happy crew afflicted with the "island slows".
